🦌 The new hunting seasons in Wallonia for 2025-2030 have been set
Namur, June 6, 2025 – It is now official: the Walloon Government adopted, this Thursday, June 5, the five-year decree setting the hunting periods for the 2025 to 2030 seasons. A highly anticipated document in the hunting community, which sets the opening and closing dates for hunting for all game species in Wallonia.
While initial recommendations from the DNF and DEMNA raised fears of major upheavals, including general openings on October 15, pragmatism has prevailed. The changes remain limited and mainly concern certain species and hunting methods.
📅 The main changes to remember:
Big game driven hunt extended until January 31 , except for roe deer and large wooded deer (closed on December 31).
Roe deer stalking/stalking authorized from April 15 to May 15 and from July 15 to August 15 .
Grey partridge hunting possible from September 20 to November 15 , subject to a new management plan to be validated.
Woodcock hunting will continue but will be postponed from November 1 to January 15 .
Opening dates aligned with European recommendations for:
Mallard : September 1 to January 15
Wood Pigeon : from October 20 to February 29Rabbit hunting open from October 1st to January 31st
⚠️ Attention: hunting suspended from July 1 to 15, 2025
The delay in publishing the decree requires compliance with the law: no shooting is permitted during this period, including for wild boar and foxes. Only targeted destruction may be requested.
