The posted hunter
The one who knows how to wait
At the post, every sound matters.
You listen to the dogs, follow the drive on the radio, and scan the woods, your heart already a bit faster.
Then the dogs get closer… and in a few seconds, all the excitement of the hunt takes over.

- But as soon as the dogs get closer, his heart races.
Why does he love the drive?

He follows the information circulating in the drive.
Et parfois, en quelques secondes, toute ton attention prend son sens.
OBSERVE IDENTIFY DECIDE
AT THE POST,
You also have to...
Stay still
sometimes for several hours
Hear what is
happening around you
Stay in touch
with the drive
Observe before
deciding
Waiting seems simple
Being ready at the right moment is much less so!
The essentials of the posted hunter
Valentin's opinion
At the post, I prefer to have little equipment, but to know that what I take works when I need it. A tested radio, earplugs that really protect my hearing, and something to observe properly are part of the things I check before leaving and that I always take with me to the post.
FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
For a day at the post, the essentials include a radio to communicate with the drive, hearing protection, binoculars, and equipment suitable for the weather conditions. Other accessories can complement your equipment depending on your hunting style and the conditions encountered.
The radio allows you to stay in contact with other hunters and to follow the information circulating during the hunt. It becomes particularly useful when participants are spread over a large territory.
The choice of binoculars depends particularly on the brightness, the observation distance, and your hunting habits. For the stationary hunter, prioritize a comfortable pair to use that is suitable for the conditions in which you hunt.
Gunshots can expose your hearing to significant sound levels. Proper hearing protection helps reduce this exposure. Electronic models can also allow you to stay attentive to the sounds of the environment while protecting your hearing during shooting.
When you remain still for several hours, the cold, wind, and rain can quickly become uncomfortable. Plan for equipment suitable for the weather conditions and prioritize solutions that keep you warm and dry without limiting your movements.
Because the hunt can evolve very quickly. After several hours of waiting, the dogs get closer, the radio comes to life, and a movement can suddenly catch your attention. It is this alternation between patience, observation, and adrenaline that makes stationary hunting so unique.
